After updating TouchMix-30 Control App to version 3.0.22, there is a pop-up:

“The file operation could not be completed. Please ensure the external drive is a writable FAT32 drive with sufficient space.”

Definition

The cause of this issue is under further investigation but can often be an indication that the previous device name was not removed before establishing a new device name.

Solution | Workaround

  1. Exit out of the Touchmix 30 app, and set the control device aside.
  2. Complete a full power cycle on the Touchmix 30. This step will usually clear all of the extra copies of device names out of the remote control list.
  3. On the Touchmix 30, Navigate to the Remote Control menu and remove any name entries that are no longer relevant for that specific device. This includes old names that are associated with that specific device, any entries that say 'unknown device', and the name that they just chose in their recent installation of the new app (if it is still there in the list). All associations with the specific device they are trying to connect should be deleted.
  4. On the iPad or iPhone, delete the 3.0.22 app completely. Then go to the app store and redownload the app.

    Note

If you are connected to the Touchmix control network at this time, disconnect from the control network. If you do not disconnect, the Touchmix may add an 'unknown device' entry in the remote devices list when you open the app.

  5. Open the Touchmix 30 app on the iPad. Assign a name different than the one you used previously.
  6. Navigate to iPad settings, and connect to the Touchmix control network.
  7. Close the Touchmix 30 app, and reopen it so that the iPad or iPhone attempts to connect with the Touchmix 30.
  8. Once the device is recognized, assign permissions to the device per usual on the Touchmix 30, and check to make sure you have control.
